We are reading some amazing books in our class like The Day the Crayons Quit by Drew Daywalt and The Tale of Despereaux by Kate DiCamillo. However, some strange things have been happening in our class since we started reading those two books...
Our crayons left us when we read The Day the Crayons Quit and have slowly been returning, although not without causing some trouble first!
We've even had a visiter from one of our books! We have the pleasure of having Despereaux staying in our class while we read his story!!! We came in to school one morning and found his little mouse nest! His miniature book tells us a story about a knight and a princess.
We left him some Play-Doh to eat and he left us his paw prints!
We're very excited to see what he does next! What do you think he'll do? Leave a comment below with your ideas!
The parent letter and rubric for the forces project has been added to the pages tab on the right. Here is the link to Mme Boychuk's blog where she has a video of previous students sharing their projects.
We were hard at work this week on our novel study of Roald Dahl's George's Marvellous Medicine!
We listened and learned about the marvellously magical medicine that George made for Grandma to help her be nicer! Here's to hoping it works!
We learned how to dance in class this week from a professional dancer!
We learned about expressing ourselves through dance and we even learned about forces! Opposite forces attract and the same forces repel! We learned how to express this idea through dance! We showed that the North pole of a magnet attracts the South pole of another magnet and vice versa! We can't keep two North poles sticking together because the same forces repel! We also learned to express gravity, push & pull, and opposing emotions like happy and angry.
