French and Math

French!

We are writing about ourselves in French. We're learning that when editing our work, a second set of eyes is really helpful because we can learn from others! We can even practice speaking in French when we work in partners!

Math!

We are working on our problem solving skills. We used our problem solving skills in groups to find out how many different ways you can organize 12 people into matching rows that each have more than one person. We had a lot of fun finding out that there are four different ways!

Terry Fox Run & Crayon Trouble

We ran in the Terry Fox run at school this week! It was a lot of fun!

We've also been hard at work in class learning and reading!

We were reading the book The Day the Crayons Quit by Drew Daywalt and some strange things have been happening in our class! Our crayons quit!

We thought that was all they had planned, but then they STOLE MME CAMPBELL!!!!!

The kids were really persuasive though and the crayons eventually gave back Mme Campbell! Phew!!

What will they do next?

Egypt

We're learning about ancient Egypt in social studies! Some of the topics we're exploring are hieroglyphs, pyramids and sarcophagi.

We thought ancient Egypt was so interesting that we started designing our own sarcophagi in class! We're focusing really hard because we learned when we looked at examples that there can be a lot of detail on a sarcophagus! They look really amazing!

French

We're learning about les déterminants possessifs and how they agree with our nouns in French! We're also exploring conjugating verbs!

During our reading times we're keeping track of our notions, ideas, and wonders in our journals while we read! We have a LOT to say about what we're reading!

Expressing Our Opinions & Editing Our Work

French!

We've been learning how to express our opinions in French. It's a lot of fun being able to speak and write about what we think in French. We had a fun oral debate as a class on which book is the best, followed by writing our opinion on whether adults or kids have more fun.

Editing!

We've also been working really hard learning about editing and how important it is!
